AND PRICE LIST FOR THE SUMMER 2024
Below you will find pictures of the car models for each car group (A2-S5) and the current price list of my favourite Astra rental company. I have been renting cars from them for many years and find it one of the most reliable on the island. I myself take a car from them regularly for myself or for friends and acquaintances.
Prices are valid from 1.4. to 10.11. 2025.
Price includes:
- Unlimited mileage.
- All cars have air conditioning.
- Basic insurance against car theft, fire, elements or vandalism.
- C.D.W. - Collision Damage Waiver. This means that if the damage is your fault, you pay a deductible. Deductible for groups A2-D6 = 700 euros. F6 = 1500 euros. J = 2000 euros. S5 = 2500 euros. If another driver is at fault, the damage is covered by his/her Compulsory Liability Insurance.
- In practice, this means that if you are at fault and the damage is e.g. 2000 euros, you only pay the deductible according to the car group you have chosen.
- Prices include 19% VAT.
- Bringing the car to your hotel within the city/resort.
- The rental company does not require any deposit.
- It is sympathetic that the rental company does not insist on paying for minor scratches.
- No credit card is required. A normal debit card from your bank will suffice for payment.
Price does not include:
- You will receive the car with a full tank. Petrol/diesel is charged separately. You return the car with a full tank. No refund is given for unused petrol/diesel.
- Airport fee of 20 euro when picking up the car at Larnaca/Paphos airport.
- Child seat available for rent for 30 euro / entire rental period
- The contract is for one driver. Additional driver listed in the contract 3 euros / day
- If you want to avoid a deductible, pay extra for Super Collision Damage Waive (SCDW) insurance. For groups A2-D6 costs 10 euro / day, F5 = 15 euro/day, J and S5 = 20 euro/day
- For complete peace of mind, I recommend adding Addtional Damage Waiver (ADW) insurance, which covers tyres, windscreen and oil pan. For groups A2-D6 it costs 5 euro/day, F5 = 15 euro/day, J and S5 = 10 euro/day.
- Returning the car in a city other than where you rented it costs 50 euros.
- To pick up or return the car outside the resort/city limits costs 30 euros.
- Renting a car for 1 day only = rate per day according to the table (2-6 days) + 25 euro extra. That's not really worth it. Rent a car for a longer period of time instead.
Other conditions:
- The minimum age of the driver is 23 years. The maximum age is 75. For older drivers, a copy of the licence must be sent to the rental company in advance.
- You don't need an international licence.
- Driving licence at least 12 months old.

The Kia Picanto – nimble and loved by all
The ideal car for two travellers or a family with one small child. It drives well, fits everywhere and looks nice. It‘s the perfect car for beginners on Cypriot roads. It is available with manual transmission or automatic. It can be yours for as little as 25 euro/day when rented for 7 days or more at summer rates.

At Larnaca/Paphos airport or they will bring it to the hotel where you will be staying.
Payment is made on collection in cash or by card. Card = normal debit card, no credit card needed. They also take Revolut if you use it.
No, it’s not required.
The base price according to the table includes car insurance against theft, fire, elements and vandalism.
If you have an accident and it‘s not your fault (verified by the police and the insurance company), the damage is paid by the other driver from their Compulsory Liability.
If it is proven that you were at fault, you pay a deductible based on the car group: A2-D6 = first 700 euros, F6 = first 1500 euros. J = first 2000 euros. S5 = first 2500 euros.
If the damage is on the other driver’s side, it is covered by his/her Compulsory Liability.
Yes, that’s right. They bring your car back with a full tank of gas and you return it with a full tank of gas. To make sure that you actually return the car to them fully fuelled, the rental company will block about 100 euros from your debit card as a deposit. But this money will not physically “disappear“ from your account, it will just be blocked and you will not be able to use it. Then, when the car is safely refuelled, the money will be released back into the account.
All you have to do is sweep up the snack crumbs and sand from the beach, shake out the carpets and throw away any rubbish. The rental company will wash the car.
At Larnaca and Paphos airports, the rental company has its own dedicated parking area. You leave the car there and take the keys to their office at the airport.
You leave the car in the parking lot of the hotel and give the keys to the reception.
